Oxnard Woman Arrested in Camarillo for Stolen Vehicle

CAMARILLO,CA  — August 18, 2026 – Oxnard resident 40-year-old Anallely Vega was arrested shortly after midnight on the morning of August 13th when Ventura County Sheriff’s Department deputies spotted a reported stolen vehicle traveling through Camarillo.

According to VCSD spokesman Det. Sgt. Ernan Jauregui, the incident began when a sheriff’s dispatcher in the Advanced Real Time Information Center “received an alert from the department’s automated license plate reader system.” The notification indicated that a stolen vehicle had been detected in the outskirts of the City of Oxnard.

Patrol deputies working nearby were promptly alerted and they found the vehicle “within one minute of the original license plate reader alert.”

A “felony traffic stop” was conducted and contact was made with Vega. When it was determined that she did not have permission to drive the vehicle and did not know the name of the true owner, she was taken into custody “without further incident.”

Vega was transported to Ventura County Jail, where she was booked on charges of unlawfully taking or driving a vehicle, and receiving stolen property involving a motor vehicle.

Vega remains in custody with her bail was set at $20,000.
