Driver Arrested on DUI and Drug Charges Following Citizen Report in Santa Cruz Area
SANTA CRUZ, CA — California Highway Patrol officers recently arrested a 38-year-old Salinas resident following a citizen report of reckless driving on Highway 1 near Airport Boulevard.
A motorist contacted 911 dispatchers after observing a vehicle traveling erratically along the highway. The caller provided emergency personnel with details regarding the vehicle’s description, direction of travel, and observed driving behavior.
Responding CHP officers located the automobile based on the reported information and conducted a traffic stop. During the subsequent investigation at the scene, officers gathered evidence leading to the driver’s arrest.
Law enforcement personnel took the 38-year-old individual into custody on multiple charges, including driving under the influence (DUI) and possession of controlled substances with intent to sell.
