California Highway Patrol Seizes Nearly 500 Pounds of Marijuana in Traffic Stop
COLUSA COUNT, CA — August 7th, 2026 — “It was another busy day for Williams Area CHP officers.
Earlier today, one of our officers made a stop on a Toyota SUV for a speed violation on Highway 20, west of Walnut Drive. While speaking with the driver, the officer observed numerous signs of criminal activity – along with nearly 500 pounds of marijuana filling the rear passenger area of the vehicle.
The driver did not have the required documents to legally transport his cargo and was arrested. He was booked into the Colusa County Jail for multiple drug possession and transportation charges.
The CHP remains committed to removing illegal and dangerous drugs from California roadways to keep our communities safe.”
