Fresno Grandmother Arrested in Connection with Crime Spree that Allegedly Included Robbery, Assault, Stolen Vehicles
FRESNO, CA — “On July 9, 2026, suspect Elida Morales, aka Elide Morales, 67-year-old, drove her three minor grandchildren (15-year-old, 14-year-old, and a 17-year-old) to a local Middle School near First Avenue and Nees Avenue to confront another minor at the school. When Morales and her minor grandchildren arrived at the school, one of the minors recorded while the other two minors physically assaulted a 13-year-old male victim. The victim’s grandparents witnessed their minor grandchild being assaulted and they intervened to break up the assault. Morales and one of the minor suspects used pepper spray to spray the victim’s grandparents. Morales and the 17-year-old minor were arrested for the use of the pepper spray during the assault.
On July 13, 2026, a 36-year-old victim was walking near Blackstone Avenue and West Minarets Avenue when he was approached and called out by a group of juveniles. The victim ignored the suspects and continued walking. When the victim arrived at a nearby liquor store, the suspects caught up to the victim and asked him why he was ignoring them and being disrespectful.
The juveniles then began to physically assault the victim. During the assault, one of the suspects took money from the victim’s back pocket. The victim fled to a nearby store and was able to get away from the suspects. Detectives positively identified all five suspects (three 15-year-old male juveniles, a 14-year-old male juvenile, and a 12-year-old male juvenile) and four out of the five suspects have been taken into custody for robbery after a search warrant service.
On July 14, 2026, a victim parked her vehicle outside her residence near West Beechwood Avenue and North San Pablo Avenue. The victim walked out to her vehicle and noticed and back window to her vehicle had been broken, and the steering column was damaged. The victim called the police and after looking at video surveillance, she noticed two male subjects trying to break into her vehicle. While the victim was waiting for the police to arrive, the two suspects returned to the victim’s residence. The victim recognized the two suspects from the surveillance video she viewed and was keeping a close eye on the suspects when one of the two suspects fired several rounds in the victim’s direction, striking the victim’s residence once. Thankfully, the victim was not struck by gunfire. Detectives positively identified the two suspects as two minors, a 15-year-old male juvenile, and a 14-year-old male juvenile.”
