Air Support Assists Fontana Police in Apprehension of Robbery Suspect

FONTANA, CA — “On Friday, July 24th, officers from the Fontana Police Department were dispatched to a robbery that occurred in the area of Sierra and Slover.
Officers located the suspect from a distance, however he fled down an embankment and out of sight. Eagle 1 went overhead as a perimeter was quickly established. Utilizing the intrared camera, the crew located the suspect hiding in dense vegetation. Eagle 1 set the ground units up around where the suspect was hiding and signaled to him that the jig was up by pointing the searchlight at him.
The suspect surrendered and was quickly taken into custody.”
