Detectives Seek Help in Riverside Poly High School Parking Lot Shooting Investigation
RIVERSIDE, CA – “On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at around 5:05 a.m., Riverside Police officers responded to the parking lot of Riverside Poly High School after receiving reports of a possible disturbance involving vehicles and gunfire.
Upon arrival, officers located evidence of a shooting and a traffic collision. One individual was found suffering from injuries and was transported to a local hospital, where they were later pronounced deceased.
The incident occurred while school was not in session, and no students were involved.
Detectives assigned to our Robbery-Homicide and Gang Units, along with Forensics Technicians, responded to assume the investigation, which remains ongoing.
Detectives are asking residents in the surrounding area to check any home surveillance or security camera footage that may have captured suspicious activity related to this incident.
