Fairfield Graduation Ceremony Shooting Suspect Located & Arrested in Texas

FAIRFIELD, CA — July 10, 2026 — “The Fairfield Police Department has arrested a 17-year-old male in connection with the June 3, 2026, shooting at the Sem Yeto graduation ceremony on the Fairfield High School campus, which resulted in the death of one victim and injuries to three additional victims struck by gunfire.

Immediately following the shooting, the Fairfield Police Department launched an extensive homicide investigation involving members of the Investigations Division, Crime Analysis Unit, Crime Scene Investigations, Patrol Division, School Resource Officers, and local, state, and federal law enforcement partners.

Through the course of the investigation, detectives identified the juvenile suspect and determined that he had fled California and traveled to the State of Texas within days of the shooting.

The Fairfield Police Department’s Investigations Division worked in close coordination with the United States Marshals Service to apprehend the suspect.

During the morning hours of July 10, 2026, members of the United States Marshals Service, accompanied by Fairfield Police Department detectives, executed a search warrant and an arrest warrant at a residence in the greater Dallas–Fort Worth, Texas area. The suspect was safely taken into custody without incident on suspicion of murder and related offenses.

The suspect will remain in custody pending extradition proceedings to Solano County, California.

This arrest represents a significant milestone in an investigation that has required hundreds of hours of investigative work and the coordinated efforts of numerous law enforcement professionals. Investigators conducted dozens of witness interviews, reviewed hours of surveillance and digital video, analyzed photographs and electronic records, executed search warrants, processed forensic evidence, and coordinated efforts across multiple jurisdictions to develop a comprehensive and prosecutable case.

The Fairfield Police Department extends its sincere appreciation to the many witnesses who demonstrated courage by coming forward and providing information that assisted investigators throughout this case. We also recognize the victims, their families, and every student, staff member, family member, and community member who experienced the traumatic events of June 3. Their patience, resilience, and cooperation have been invaluable throughout this investigation.

The Department also extends its gratitude to the local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies whose professionalism, expertise, and partnership contributed to the successful identification and apprehension of the suspect. We extend our special thanks to the Fairfield-Suisun Unified School District for its exceptional cooperation and unwavering partnership throughout this investigation.

Although an arrest has been made, this investigation remains active. Detectives continue to pursue additional investigative leads. Anyone with information related to this incident who has not yet spoken with investigators is urged to contact the Fairfield Police Department.
