Man Arrested on Felony DUI and Child Endangerment Allegations Following Crash on State Route 70
CROMBERG, CA — On June 19, 2026, at approximately 4:32 PM, officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Quincy Area responded to a report of a traffic crash on State Route 70, located east of Overload Road. The collision involved a solo-vehicle that struck a tree.
At the
time of the crash, the vehicle was occupied by an adult male driver and two juvenile passengers. During the subsequent investigation at the scene, responding officers determined that the driver was operating the vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
As a result of the investigation, the driver was arrested for felony DUI causing injury and child endangerment. The two juveniles sustained injuries in the crash and were transported to Plumas District Hospital for medical evaluation and treatment.
Following the incident, the CHP released a statement emphasizing that drunk driving puts individuals at risk. The agency advised that anyone who has been drinking alcohol should make arrangements for a sober driver or remain at their current location, stating that motorists must make the decision to never drink and drive because it is never worth risking a life.
