Cybertip from NCMEC Leads to Arrest of Shingletown Man on CSAM and Illegal Assault Weapon Allegations
SHINGLETOWN, CA — “On March 10th, 2026, the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office received a Cybertip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) concerning suspected child sexual abuse material associated with an online account in Shingletown, CA. The account was identified as belonging to Christopher Loren Holmes, age 37, of Shingletown, CA.
Detectives assigned to the Shasta County Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit (MCU) reviewed the Cybertip and identified multiple videos depicting the sexual abuse of children. Detectives subsequently obtained and served a search warrant on the associated online account. Evidence obtained during the investigation indicated Holmes had allegedly sent and received child sexual abuse material. On June 11th, 2026, an arrest warrant was issued for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
On June 16th, 2026, Holmes was arrested by members of the Shasta County AB109/SAFE and SINTF Task Force. Following his arrest, detectives and evidence technicians served a search warrant at Holmes’ residence in Shingletown. During the search, detectives located additional evidence related to the investigation, several high-capacity firearm magazines, and illegal assault weapons.
During the investigation, detectives learned Holmes had engaged in sexual acts with an animal. Holmes was booked into the Shasta County Jail for the following charges:
311.11(a)(1) PC – Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
597(b) PC – Animal Cruelty
286.5(a) PC – Sexual Contact with an Animal
32310(c) PC – Possession of High-Capacity Magazines
30605(a) PC – Possession of an Assault Weapon
