Multi-Agency Cross County Vehicle Pursuit in DUI and Evading Arrest
MONTEREY & SANTA CRUZ COUNTIES, CA — California Highway Patrol officers from the Monterey unit, along with personnel from CHP Santa Cruz and State Parks, collaborated in a multi-agency vehicle pursuit involving a BMW earlier this week. The incident originated within Santa Cruz County before moving into neighboring jurisdictions.
During the pursuit, the operator of the BMW accelerated to speeds exceeding 100 mph. Law enforcement personnel coordinated their efforts across the participating agencies to manage the path of the fleeing vehicle and bring the pursuit to a conclusion without injuries or property damage.
Following the termination of the pursuit, the driver was taken into custody by responding officers. The individual was subsequently arrested and booked on charges of felony evading and driving under the influence (DUI). Authorities emphasized that the enforcement action reflects ongoing interagency coordination aimed at addressing reckless and impaired driving behaviors on regional roadways.
