DUI Crash in Visalia Leads to Arrest of Mother Arrested on Felony DUI and Child Endangerment Allegations

VISALIA, CA — May 21st 2026 — “Two Children Injured in DUI Crash, Mother Arrested. At approximately 6:22 p.m., officers with the Visalia Police Department responded to the area of Ben Maddox Way and Walnut Avenue for a reported injury collision.

During the investigation, officers learned Margarita Rodriguez was driving eastbound on Walnut Avenue with her three children, ages 8, 7, and 2, inside the vehicle. Rodriguez lost control of the vehicle, swerved off the roadway, and crashed into a tree. The 2-year-old and 8-year-old children were injured in the collision.

Officers on scene determined Rodriguez was driving under the influence of a stimulant at the time of the collision. She was arrested for felony DUI causing injury and child endangerment. #visaliapd”
