Joint Law Enforcement Operation Yields 62 Arrests and Narcotics Seizure in San Francisco
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — A joint law enforcement operation conducted by the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) and the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office (SFSO) resulted in the arrest of 62 individuals and the seizure of more than half a pound of narcotics.
The single-day enforcement action took place on Wednesday, May 13, 2025, across the city’s Tenderloin, Mission, and Southern Districts. Executed under the Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC), the operation specifically focused on locating and apprehending fugitives with outstanding arrest warrants as part of broader municipal efforts to disrupt local narcotics markets.
Out of the 62 individuals taken into custody, 52 were found to have active arrest warrants. The SFPD Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team (FRET) was directly responsible for nine of those warrant-related apprehensions. During the course of the operation, law enforcement officers discovered and confiscated a cumulative total of 338.5 grams (approximately 0.74 pounds) of illegal narcotics.
A large contingent of specialized units participated in the operation, including the SFPD Narcotics Unit, the DMACC Enforcement Team, the Narcotics Drug Recognition Expert Team, the Community Violence Reduction Team, the Healthy Streets Operation Center (HSOC), and the Traffic Company. Patrol, plainclothes, and violence reduction teams from the Tenderloin, Mission, and Southern stations also participated alongside sheriff’s deputies.
The SFPD acknowledged the assistance of the San Francisco Sheriff’s Office, stating that the agency’s collaboration was instrumental to the execution of the operation. Representatives indicated that local authorities will maintain their focus on removing wanted suspects from public areas and prosecuting individuals involved in illegal narcotics distribution.
