Suspect Arrested in Connection with 2024 Fatal Stabbing at Delhi Park
SANTA ANA, CA – Santa Ana Police Homicide Detectives have arrested a 34-year-old man in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man at Delhi Park in October 2024.
The initial incident occurred on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at approximately 7:20 a.m., when Santa Ana Police Communications received a report regarding an unresponsive adult male at Delhi Park. Responding officers located the man, who was deceased from apparent stab wounds to his body. The Orange County Sheriff-Coroner later identified the victim as 46-year-old Eduardo Rigoberto Bustamante of Santa Ana.
Following an investigation, homicide detectives identified Luis Buenrostro, 34, as the suspect in the homicide. On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, Santa Ana Police Gang Detectives located Buenrostro in the area of the 3300 block of South Bristol Street in Santa Ana, where he was taken into custody without incident.
The Santa Ana Police Department acknowledged the assistance of the Orange County AB109 Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service, the Irvine Police Department, and the Anaheim Police Department during the investigation and apprehension process.
Buenrostro was booked into the Santa Ana Jail on charges of murder, in violation of California Penal Code § 187(a).
