Tulare County Sheriff’s Detectives Arrest Two Men for Earlimart Murder

EARLIMART, CA  — Homicide detectives from the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office have arrested two suspects in connection with the murder of a 43-year-old man whose body was discovered last month near a highway off-ramp in the Earlimart area.

On Thursday, May 7, 2026, detectives took 26-year-old Alexander Torres and 32-year-old Ramon Delgado, both residents of Earlimart, into custody. The arrests followed a comprehensive investigation into the death of Ruben Chavez.

The case began on April 16, 2026, when Chavez was found deceased near a Highway 99 off-ramp in Tulare County. The Tulare County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit assumed control of the scene and, through the course of their investigation, identified Torres and Delgado as the primary suspects in the killing. A motive for the crime has not been released by authorities.

Both suspects were booked into the county jail on murder charges. The investigation remains open, and anyone with further information is encouraged to contact Detective McCaskill or Sergeant Nicholson with the Tulare County Sheriff’s Homicide Unit at (559) 733-7218.
