THOUSAND OAKS, CA – May 8, 2026 – A residential burglary in Thousand Oaks on the morning of May 5 left a home
ransacked and more than $100,000 worth of property missing.
According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department the
break-in took place while the homeowners were away from the residence. When one
of the victims returned home, they discovered “numerous valuables had been stolen.
Detectives with the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office East County Investigations Bureau
quickly launched an investigation and began searching for suspects “believed to be
connected to an organized burglary crew.”
Additional assistance from the Los Angeles
County Sheriff’s Department, California Highway Patrol and Los Angeles Police
Department ultimately “tracked two suspect vehicles” believed to have been involved in
the crime.
CHP officers spotted one of the suspect vehicles in the Calabasas area and attempted a
traffic stop, but the driver refused to pull over, triggering a brief pursuit. The chase
ended a short distance later when three suspects “bailed out and ran on foot.”
All three fleeing suspects were caught and identified as Javier Ricardo Pulido Ramirez,
41, of Los Angeles; Diego Fernando Paipilla Cuervo, 39, of Los Angeles; and Jesus
Miguel Velez Hernandez, 35, of Simi Valley.
While those arrests were being processed, LAPD officers “located the second vehicle”
and arrested Sergio Alejandro Paez Cuervo, 27, of Los Angeles.
A search of the suspect vehicles led to the discovery of property believed to have been
stolen during the Thousand Oaks burglary, along with additional evidence tying the
group to the crime.
All four suspects were transported to Ventura County Jail, where they were each booked
on on suspicion of residential burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime with their bail
set at $500,000 each.
