A burglary crew tied to a string of break-ins in Ventura County and Los Angeles County
is now behind bars after investigators tracked the suspects across county lines and
coordinated a multi-agency takedown.

According to Ventura County Sheriff’s Department spokesman Sgt. Richard LaSecia,
the investigation began February 12, when burglars “targeted a home in the Dos
Vientos area of Thousand Oaks.” Detectives later learned a second residential burglary
was reported April 24, at “another nearby home less than a quarter-mile away.”

Detectives linked the two crimes and identified a pair of vehicles “believed to have been
used during the burglaries.” Investigators eventually traced both vehicles to addresses in
the City of Los Angeles, and those vehicles were “put under surveillance.”

On May 1 surveillance teams observed the suspects “as they drove into a residential
neighborhood there and burglarized another home.”

As the two vehicles left the area, deputies moved in and conducted a coordinated
enforcement stop of the suspect vehicles, whereupon two suspects jumped from one of
the vehicles and ran. Deputies immediately pursued the two men while two remaining
suspects in the second vehicle were detained.

Only one of the fleeing suspects was caught at the scene while the fourth managed to
elude the cops. The three arrested suspects were identified as Owen Rivera-
Chacon, 26,  of Los Angeles, Christian Sanchez, 26,  of Los Angeles, and
Edisson Boyaca, 27, of Los Angeles. All three were transported to Los Angeles County jail,
where they were booked on suspicion of burglary and conspiracy charges.

For the next three days, the remaining suspect remained at large, but on May 4, 26-
year-old Los Angeles resident Juan Sebastian Naranjo was tracked down by members of
the VCSD East County Special Enforcement Unit and arrested. Naranjo was transported
to Ventura County Jail, where he was booked on charges of burglary and conspiracy,
with his bail set at $500,000.Four-
