Two Suspects Apprehended Following $3,000 Vehicle Burglary in Irvine

IRVINE, CA — On Thursday April 23rd,  Irvine Police Department officers arrested two individuals in connection with a vehicle burglary that occurred on the previous Thursday at an apartment garage on Martin Drive. The initial investigation reported that over $3,000 worth of personal property had been stolen from a vehicle at the location.

The arrests followed an alert from the Real Time Crime Center, which notified patrol officers that the suspect vehicle was traveling through the city. Upon locating and stopping the vehicle, officers detained 48-year-old Chris Huynh of Garden Grove and 41-year-old Yasmine Nahida Kanbour of Tustin.

During a search of the vehicle, officers recovered the victim’s stolen property along with illegal drugs and mail belonging to other individuals. Both Huynh and Kanbour were taken into custody and booked on several charges, including burglary, conspiracy, possession of stolen property, and drug-related offenses.

This is not the first encounter with law enforcement for either individual. Records show a 2019 arrest for Kanbour involving identity theft, and a lengthy history for Huynh, who has faced numerous recent charges ranging from grand theft auto and burglary to battery
