Multiple DUI Arrests Following Misuse of Nitrous Oxide During Graveyard Shift

ORANGE, CA – During the graveyard shift last Friday, officers conducted three separate arrests for driving under the influence (DUI) involving the suspected use of nitrous oxide.

Nitrous oxide, frequently referred to as “laughing gas,” is a substance that is misused for euphoric effects. Law enforcement officials emphasized that the substance significantly impairs a driver’s ability to operate a vehicle safely. The physiological effects of nitrous oxide include dizziness, disorientation, and slowed reaction times. Furthermore, the substance can lead to impaired judgment, loss of coordination, and sudden loss of consciousness or motor control.

Authorities stated that driving under the influence of any substance remains a serious risk to public safety and reiterated that such activity will result in enforcement action to protect the community.
