San Francisco Police Arrest 47 and Seize Nearly One Kilogram of Narcotics in Latest Drug Market Crackdown

SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) arrested 47 individuals and seized approximately 939 grams of narcotics during enforcement operations conducted on Wednesday, April 8, 2026 in the area’s latest drug market crackdown. The actions included buy-bust operations and a Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team (FRET) operation within the department’s Drug Market Agency Coordination Center (DMACC) areas.

During the buy-bust phase of the operation, officers arrested four individuals and recovered 114.8 grams of illegal substances, including fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine base, and heroin. The FRET operation resulted in an additional 43 arrests for outstanding warrants and various drug-related charges. While processing these arrests, officers seized 824.2 grams of narcotics.

According to department data, the DMACC initiative has resulted in the seizure of more than 1,249 pounds of narcotics, including 356 pounds of fentanyl, since its establishment in May 2023. To date, officers have made 13,994 arrests under this program, including 2,491 related to drug sales.

SFPD officials stated that the department remains focused on coordinating with local, state, and federal agencies to address drug markets and hold individuals accountable for the sale of illegal substances.
