HOLLISTER, CA — Three men were taken into custody on March 26, 2026, following a shooting incident and a brief standoff at a residence on the 800 block of Stallion Way.
San Benito County Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at approximately 8:00 PM after receiving reports of a individual discharging a firearm in front of a home. Upon arrival, law enforcement observed additional rounds being fired in an undisclosed direction. Sergeant Charlesworth and a team of deputies established a perimeter and issued commands for the occupants to exit. The individuals inside initially closed the garage door and extinguished the lights before eventually surrendering to authorities.
A subsequent search of the property led to the seizure of four firearms, multiple magazines, and several boxes of ammunition. Investigators determined that 38-year-old Javier Fonseca Lopez had fired multiple rounds from two different weapons. Lopez was arrested on charges including negligent discharge of a firearm, destruction of evidence, conspiracy, and resisting arrest.
Two other men, 54-year-old Rui Darosa and 43-year-old Andres Garcia, were also arrested on charges related to conspiracy and resisting or delaying peace officers. The Hollister Police Department and Hollister Fire Department assisted in the operation, which remains under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office.
