SHASTA COUNTY, CA — “During the month of March 2026, the Major Crimes Unit (MCU) posed in an undercover capacity to identify and communicate with potential child predators. During this targeted operation, detectives identified a registered sex offender, Joshua Anthony Levan, age 39 of Round Mountain, who had been communicating with who he believed to be a thirteen-year-old child.
As a result of this operation, a Felony Arrest Warrant was issued for:
288.2(a)(1) PC – Sending Harmful Material to a Minor
288.3(a) PC – Contacting a Minor with Sexual Intent
288.4(a)(1) PC – Arranging a Meeting with a Minor
On Thursday, March 26th, 2026, Levan followed through with arriving at a designated location for the purpose of having sexual relations with a minor. He was arrested for his felony warrant and the additional charge of Arriving to Meet with a Minor with Sexual Intent in violation of 288.4(b)(1) PC. A search warrant was served at his residence on the 29000 block of Terry Mill Road in Round Mountain and his children were placed into temporary custody with Shasta County Children’s Services.
Levan was booked into the Shasta County Jail with his bail set at $200,000.”
