Three Arrested After Kern County Sheriff’s Deputies Reportedly Find Illegal Weapons in Vehicle

MOJAVE, CA — “On March 17, 2026, deputies from the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Mojave and Rosamond substations responded to the 400 block of Silver Queen Road in Mojave regarding possible shots fired in the area.

When deputies arrived, a vehicle was seen fleeing the area where gunshots were heard. Deputies contacted Bryant Hernandez (33), Heriberto Hernandez Casillas (20), and Dorian Juarez (22) on the traffic stop of the vehicle. Deputies searched the vehicle and located two short-barreled rifles, three handguns, extended magazines, and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.

All three subjects were placed under arrest for PC 246.3- Willful discharge of a firearm in a negligent manner, PC 25850(A)-Carry a loaded firearm in public, 23920(A)- Possession of firearms without identifying marks, PC 32310(A)- Possession of large capacity magazine, PC 33215- Possession of a short, barreled rifle, PC 30605(A)- Illegal possession of an assault weapon.

Hernandez Casillas was also placed under arrest for PC 29800(A)- Prohibited person in possession of a firearm and PC 30305(A)- Prohibited person in possession of ammunition.”
