Perris Resident Arrested in Connection with Downtown Riverside Double Homicide
RIVERSIDE, CA – Riverside Police detectives have arrested a 28-year-old Perris man in connection with a double homicide investigation following an incident on March 12, 2026. At approximately 2:28 a.m., officers responded to reports of an individual down near the intersection of 12th Street and Main Street in downtown Riverside. During the initial response, paramedics with American Medical Response located a second individual on Orange Street, south of 12th Street.
Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male and an adult female suffering from significant injuries. Personnel from the Riverside Fire Department pronounced both individuals deceased at the scene. The victims were later identified as 54-year-old Richard Hinds and 57-year-old Corrina Segovia.
A preliminary investigation by detectives determined that the suspect, identified as Cesar Aguirre, traveled to Riverside by bus. Authorities allege that Aguirre fatally stabbed both victims in separate attacks that appeared to be unprovoked.
Members of the Riverside Police Department’s METRO Team assisted in locating Aguirre at his residence in Perris. He was subsequently arrested and booked into the Robert Presley Detention Center on two counts of murder. Aguirre is currently being held on $2 million bail.
