Desert Hot Springs Resident Arrested at Border in Connection with Homicide

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA – “🚨 HOMICIDE SUSPECT ARRESTED 🚨

On March 15, 2026, at approximately 5:15 PM, Desert Hot Springs Police Officers responded to the area of Mission Creek Rd. and Worsley Rd. regarding a deceased person. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female, later identified as 30-year-old Brianna Chavez of Los Angeles, who had been shot and killed earlier that day.

Detectives quickly identified 29-year-old Aaron Espinoza of Desert Hot Springs as the suspect.

On March 17, 2026, Espinoza was taken into custody at the Arizona/Mexico border with the assistance of the Riverside County DA’s Gang Impact Team (GIT), U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, and the San Luis Police Department.

Espinoza is facing charges including Murder, Child Endangerment, and Felon in Possession of a Firearm. He remains in custody without bail pending extradition.
