CORONA, CA – Corona Police officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 1200 block of W. Sixth St. on March 17, 2026. Upon arriving at the scene at approximately 4:00 p.m., authorities located an adult male victim who had sustained a gunshot wound. The individual was subsequently transported to a local hospital, where he received treatment for injuries described by officials as non-life-threatening.
Detectives from the Corona Police Department assumed the investigation and identified 33-year-old Corona resident Joshua Vasquez as the suspect. A short time later, officers located and arrested Vasquez in the 1700 block of Kellogg Ave. Following the arrest, the department’s Special Response Team (SRT) executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence. During the search, officers recovered a firearm believed to have been used during the incident.
According to the initial investigation, the shooting followed a verbal dispute between the involved parties. Vasquez is currently being held at the Robert Presley Detention Center. He faces charges of attempted murder and various firearm violations.
