Two Fires Lead To The Arrest Of A Suspected Arsonist
Originally published as a Palm Springs Police Department Facebook post – 
“On 08/16/2021 at about 5:00 am, The Palm Springs Fire Department received a call of a fire to the rear of a business in the 300 Block of S. Palm Canyon Drive.
The fire was contained to a stack of debris on the exterior of the location and the fire was believed to be a result of arson. The suspect was described as a female adult wearing an oversized blue shirt.
At about 11:30 am, Palm Springs PD and Palm Springs Fire received reports of a brush fire in the 300 Block of Calle Abronia.
The brush fire then spread to a nearby unoccupied residence. A female suspect, later identified as Alba Espinoza (Female adult resident of Palm Springs), was arrested at the scene after being identified as the person who started the brush fire and the initial debris fire.
Espinoza was later transported to the Indio Jail for the following charges: PC 3056 (Parole Violation), PC 451 (Arson), PC 451.5 (Aggravated Arson), PC 453 (Incendiary Device), PC 457.1 (Arson Registration Violation).
All suspects are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.”
