MARINA, CA — A Marina Police officer arrested a man on multiple felony charges, including domestic battery and failure to register as a sex offender, on the morning of March 12, 2026.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:31 a.m. in the vicinity of Del Monte Boulevard and Cypress Avenue. While on patrol, an officer identified an adult male walking in the area who was known to have outstanding warrants. The officer detained the individual, who was subsequently identified as Juan Jose Gonzalez.
Department records indicate that Gonzalez was wanted for failure to register as a sex offender, a requirement under California Penal Code section 290, and for violating the terms of his Monterey County probation. Following the detention, authorities confirmed that Gonzalez was also the subject of a felony warrant involving domestic battery and elder abuse.
