Multi-Agency Operation Results in 106 Arrests and Seizure of 31 Firearms

SAN BERNARDINO COUNTY, CA — Between February 9, 2026, and February 15, 2026, the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department conducted targeted crime suppression efforts under Operation Consequences. This initiative involved a multi-agency collaboration including the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, the Specialized Enforcement Division, the San Bernardino County Probation Department, and the California Highway Patrol. Several municipal police departments from Upland, Colton, Ontario, Fontana, and Chino, along with Homeland Security Investigations, also participated in the operations.

The enforcement actions took place across multiple locations, including Apple Valley, Victorville, Hesperia, Phelan, Colton, San Bernardino, Rialto, Fontana, Highland, and Mentone. During this one-week period, investigators served 13 search warrants, which included a focused operation in the City of Colton on February 13. Additionally, the San Bernardino Movement Against Street Hoodlums (SMASH) Street Enforcement Team (SET) conducted proactive patrols in the High Desert and surrounding jurisdictions.

The operation resulted in 59 felony arrests and 47 misdemeanor arrests. Law enforcement personnel seized 31 firearms, two of which were identified as ghost guns, and over seven pounds of suspected narcotics. Officials noted that five of these arrests involved the application of Proposition 36, “The Homelessness, Drug Addiction and Theft Reduction Act,” which took effect on December 18, 2024. This legislation allows for enhanced sentencing and prevents certain offenders from being cite-released prior to court appearances.

Operation Consequences is supported by funding authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors for county-wide crime suppression. The program is scheduled to continue over the next several months with a focus on addressing violent crime, disrupting criminal street gangs, and investigating the illegal possession and trafficking of firearms within the High Desert and the areas surrounding the city of San Bernardino.
