Arrest Made in Placerville Homicide Investigation
PLACERVILLE, CA — “On February 17, 2026, deputies from the El Dorado County Sheriff’s Office responded to a residence in the 1400 block of Big Oak Road, Placerville, CA for the report of a male subject brandishing a firearm.
Upon arrival, deputies detained Geoffrey Snyder, 57 years of age, at the residence.
The responding deputies also located Shelley Snyder, 56 years of age, inside of the residence deceased from a suspected gunshot wound. Geoffrey Snyder was ultimately arrested and booked into the El Dorado County Jail. He is being held without bail on a first-degree murder charge.
The investigation is ongoing, and no further details are available.”
