Desert Hot Springs Resident Arrested in Online Child Exploitation Investigation

DESERT HOT SPRINGS, CA – Detectives with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department have concluded an investigation into allegations of online child exploitation, resulting in the arrest of a 28-year-old male resident. The investigation, which took place over recent days, focused on activities involving the exploitation of minors through digital platforms.

On February 5, 2026, detectives and patrol officers with the Desert Hot Springs Police Department took the suspect into custody. At the time of his arrest, officials noted the individual was out on bail related to an unrelated felony evading case. Following the apprehension, law enforcement officers executed a search warrant at the suspect’s residence to gather evidence pertaining to the investigation.

The suspect was subsequently transported and booked into the Riverside County Jail. The charges filed against him include the possession of child pornography and committing a felony while out on bail for a prior offense. According to department records, the suspect is currently being held in custody in lieu of $200,000 bail.

The Desert Hot Springs Police Department stated that the agency maintains a commitment to investigating crimes involving the exploitation of community members and prioritizing the protection of children. The investigation into the digital materials and the suspect’s activities remains part of the department’s ongoing enforcement efforts.
