Estranged Husband Charged with Murder after Woman’s Body Found Down Crestline Embankment
CRESTLINE, CA — On Tuesday, November 18, 2025, at 11:42 a.m., deputies from the Twin Peaks Station responded to reports of a deceased person located near State Highway 138 and Crestline Road in Crestline. Upon arrival, law enforcement personnel discovered a body approximately 75 feet down a steep embankment. The San Bernardino County Fire Department assisted in retrieving the individual from the mountainside before she was transported to the Coroner’s Office for examination.
The Specialized Investigations Division assumed responsibility for the case. An initial autopsy conducted on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, noted injuries consistent with a fall. While the victim was initially unidentified and described as a female between 25 and 35 years old, she was later identified as 58-year-old Aryan Papoli, a resident of Newport Beach. Following a review of the full autopsy results, the coroner determined the manner of death to be a homicide.
Detectives subsequently identified the victim’s estranged husband, 66-year-old Gordon Abas Goodarzi of Rolling Hills, as a suspect in the investigation. On Friday, January 23, 2026, authorities contacted Goodarzi at his residence and placed him under arrest. He was transported to the Central Detention Center, where he is currently being held without bail on a charge of PC 187 – Murder.
