Domestic Violence Suspect Allegedly Caught with “Large Quantity” of Cocaine During Arrest

PETALUMA, CA — “On January 7, 2026, at approximately 10:49 a.m., a Petaluma PD was advised that Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office (SCSO) deputies were responding to a domestic violence call in the area of Bailey Avenue in Petaluma. Information indicated the suspect had fled the scene southbound on Petaluma Boulevard North in a black Chevrolet pickup truck.

Petaluma PD officers located a vehicle matching that description in the parking lot of the Petaluma Livestock Auction Yard. Officers contacted the sole occupant of the vehicle, who complied with commands and was detained without incident. The driver was identified as 36-year-old Trey Bulleri, a Petaluma resident.

During the contact, officers observed a large one-gallon zip-top bag containing suspected cocaine on the ground near the driver-side door. The substance was later determined to weigh just under 10 ounces. Officers also located more than 30 pre-packaged baggies of suspected cocaine inside the vehicle and an additional five small baggies of suspected cocaine inside Bulleri’s jacket pocket.

SCSO deputies took custody of Bulleri in connection with their domestic violence investigation and transported him to the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility. Bulleri was booked on charges related to the domestic violence incident as well as possession of a controlled substance for sale.

Under California law, Health and Safety Code section 11370.4 allows for enhanced penalties when a person is found in possession of specified controlled substances in quantities exceeding statutory thresholds. These weight-based enhancements are intended to address large-scale drug trafficking due to the significant risks such activity poses to community health and safety.

The Petaluma Police Department continues to work closely with regional law enforcement partners to address violent crime and drug-related activity in the community and reminds residents to report suspicious activity promptly.”
