EL DORADO COUNTY, CA — January 9th 2026
“An El Dorado County jury has convicted Kohl Klare Knoefler, 43, of Downieville, of felony driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood alcohol content over 0.08% following a two-day jury trial.
The jury also found true sentencing enhancements, including a blood alcohol content over 0.15%, a prior felony DUI conviction, and a history of increasing seriousness and numerous convictions. This marks the defendant’s fifth DUI conviction since 2007.
Following the verdict, Knoefler was taken into custody.
Sentencing is scheduled for February 2, 2026 in Department 1 of the El Dorado County Superior Court.
