Yucca Valley Resident Arrested for Attempted Murder Following Shooting at Local Party

YUCCA VALLEY, CA – On Sunday, December 21, 2025, at approximately 9:51 p.m., deputies from the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department responded to a report of a shooting at a residence located on the 57000 block of Chipmunk Trail in Yucca Valley. Upon arrival at the scene, which was identified as the site of a party, law enforcement officers located 18-year-old Michael Ramos suffering from a gunshot wound. Ramos was transported to a local hospital in grave condition.

The initial investigation indicated that Ramos had been involved in a verbal argument with a male subject, identified by authorities as 29-year-old Nicholas Daniel Lee. According to department reports, Lee shot Ramos before fleeing the residence. Deputies, supported by Sheriff’s Aviation, conducted a search of the surrounding area and located Lee in hiding. He was subsequently arrested and booked on suspicion of attempted murder (PC 664/187).

The Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division – Homicide Detail has assumed the investigation. Detectives received an update from medical staff indicating that Ramos is not expected to survive his injuries. Authorities stated that the current charges against Lee will be modified if Ramos is pronounced deceased.
