Porterville Resident Arrested for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

PORTERVILLE, CA — The Porterville Police Department announced the arrest of a 28-year-old resident on Tuesday in connection with the possession of child sexual abuse material. Jairo Jose Garcia was taken into custody on December 16, 2025, at approximately 7:30 a.m. following an investigation that began the previous month.

The case originated on November 19, 2024, when officers responded to a report regarding the potential possession of illicit electronic materials at a residence. Initial findings indicated that the material was stored and accessed through electronic means. The department’s General Investigations Unit subsequently took over the case, serving several search warrants over the course of the inquiry.

Investigators stated they identified child sexual abuse material within an account controlled by Garcia. Based on these findings, detectives obtained an arrest warrant for charges including Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material and Possession of Over 600 Images of Child Sexual Abuse Material.

The arrest was executed during a search warrant service at Garcia’s residence, located in the 800 block of West Gerry Lane. The operation was a collaborative effort involving Porterville Police Department Detectives, the Tulare County District Attorney Investigators Office, and the Fresno ICAC Task Force.

Garcia was transported to the Tulare County Sheriff’s Office South County Detention Facility, where he remains held without bail.
