A quiet December morning in Moorpark turned into a bustling scene of police activity after a
narcotics investigation led officers to a home suspected of supplying drugs in the community.
According to Ventura county Sheriff’s Department spokesman Detective Tom Fucks, the case
began when the Moorpark Police Special Enforcement Unit “developed information suggesting
narcotics were being sold out of a home” in a residential neighborhood.
Detectives spent weeks tracking activity around the home before identifying 49-year-old Vanessa
Gonzalez of Moorpark as the primary suspect. With that information in hand, they secured a
search warrant which they executed on the morning of Dec. 5.
Detectives from the Moorpark SEU, the Moorpark Investigations Bureau and the East County SEU collaborated in the warrant
service on Gonzalez’s home, where they found “4.6 grams of methamphetamine, a small amount
of fentanyl, about 200 grams of marijuana and items associated with drug sales.”
At the scene, Kevin Aguilar, 34, and Arnoldo Gonzalez, 51, were arrested on suspicion of being
under the influence of a controlled substance.
Vanessa Gonzalez, 49, was booked on allegations of
possessing controlled substances for sale, possessing drug paraphernalia and possessing
marijuana for sale, along with a charge tied to prior narcotics convictions.
Emilio Solis, 65, was arrested on suspicion of being under the influence of a controlled substance
and possessing drug paraphernalia. Salvador Zavala, 32, was booked on suspicion of being under
the influence of a controlled substance.
Hernan Castillo, 33, was cited on suspicion of violating probation, and Lorraine Hatcher, 43, was
cited on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.
Those arrested were transported to Ventura County Jail where they remain on a no-bail hold.
