Erratic Subject Apprehended After Brief Foot Chase, Vehicle Vandalism
MURRIETA, CA — November 25th 2025 — Officers with the Murrieta Police Department recently responded to a reported incident involving a male subject acting erratically and damaging vehicles in a public area. The initial officer on scene observed a male individual positioned atop a vehicle, gesturing toward and verbally engaging with the vehicle’s interior. It was subsequently noted that the vehicle was unoccupied.
Upon being directed to exit the vehicle, the male subject complied by moving to the curbside. However, he reportedly resisted further directives, including an instruction to sit down. The individual then initiated a running movement in an apparent attempt to evade the officer.
The duration of the subject’s movement was brief, and the responding officer apprehended the individual shortly after the attempt to flee commenced. The apprehension occurred within a short distance of the initial location.
Authorities determined the suspect had sustained a hand injury prior to the interaction with law enforcement, reportedly resulting from contact with a vehicle. The individual received on-scene treatment for the injury. Following treatment, the subject was transported to the Central Booking and Detention Center (CBDC).
The prompt action and arrest were attributed to observant community members who reported the incident to the authorities. The department extended recognition to the officers involved for the successful resolution of the event.
