Operation Consequences is supported by funding authorized by the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors for county-wide crime suppression. The stated intent of this funding is to enhance law enforcement services concerning quality-of-life issues within the county’s communities.

The operation is designed to conduct targeted suppression activities in the High Desert region and the Sheriff’s jurisdiction surrounding the City of San Bernardino. Future iterations of the operation will involve personnel from the Sheriff’s Gangs/Narcotics Division, Specialized Enforcement Division, patrol stations, the California Highway Patrol, San Bernardino Police Department, San Bernardino County Probation, and Department of Homeland Security Investigations. The overall goal of the multi-month operation is to curb violent crime, disrupt and dismantle targeted criminal street gangs, and locate and arrest criminals involved in the illegal possession, manufacturing, and trafficking of firearms.
