Redding Man Arrested for Alleged Possession of 1.7 Pounds of Meth

REDDING, CA — “On November 13, 2025, officers with the Neighborhood Police Unit (NPU) conducted a traffic stop on Matthew Luke, 52, of Redding. NPU officers are very familiar with Luke, as he has been arrested several times recently for the possession of methamphetamine for sale. Specifically, Luke was arrested by NPU in July of this year after being found in possession of approximately 2 pounds of methamphetamine.

NPU officers knew Luke was currently on searchable probation for possession of a controlled substance for sale. During a search of his vehicle, officers located over 27 ounces of methamphetamine (1.7 pounds) packaged into several different bags. Officers also located other items indicative of narcotics sales, including a scale and U.S. currency.

Luke was arrested for possession of a controlled substance for sale and was booked into the Shasta County Jail.”
