Homicide Detail Investigating Death of Twentynine Palms Resident

TWENTYNINE PALMS, CA  — The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Specialized Investigations Division—Homicide Detail is currently investigating the death of a Twentynine Palms resident after a body was discovered on October 31, 2025. The deceased person has been identified as 51-year-old Hiroko Nagao, a resident of the 74000 block of Aztec Avenue.

The investigation commenced following a missing person report filed on Thursday, October 23, 2025. According to reports, the decedent’s husband left the residence around 12:00 p.m. that day. When he returned later, he was unable to locate his wife, though her personal items remained at the home, leading him to contact Sheriff’s Dispatch.

On the afternoon of Friday, October 31, 2025, at approximately 1:00 p.m., the body of Hiroko Nagao was discovered on the property by her husband. Deputies from the Morongo Station subsequently arrived at the location to investigate the scene.

Due to the circumstances of the discovery, the Sheriff’s Homicide Detail was called to the residence and assumed control of the investigation. The official cause and manner of death are pending the outcome of a forensic autopsy. No further information regarding the case is being released at this time.
