Police Respond to Scene of Single-Vehicle Collision, Reportedly Arrest Juvenile for Alleged DUI

PETALUMA, CA — “On November 9, 2025, at approximately 12:01 a.m., Petaluma Police officers responded to a single-vehicle collision at the intersection of Washington Street and Lakeville Street. Upon arrival, officers located a vehicle that had collided with the railroad crossing arms.

The driver and sole occupant, a 17-year-old male, was determined to have been involved in a petty theft from a local convenience store just prior to the crash. The investigation also revealed the juvenile had been driving under the influence of alcohol.

As a result of the collision the juvenile received minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation.  The juvenile was subsequently cited for petty theft and for driving with a blood alcohol concentration between .01% and .05%. He was released to his parents on a notice to appear in court.

The Petaluma Police Department would like to remind the public that individuals under 21 years of age are prohibited from driving with any measurable amount of alcohol in their system. A conviction may result in a one-year driver’s license suspension.”
