Delano Police Carry Out Search Warrant in Firearm Investigation; Earlimart Man Arrested
EARLIMART, CA — Delano police arrested an individual for the alleged possession of illegal firearms and more during the service of a search warrant earlier this month.
According to a press release by the Delano Police Department, investigators, assisted by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation CRT Team and the Kern County District Attorney Investigator’s Office, carried out a search warrant on Friday, Oct. 17, at a residence on the 700 block of S. Market Road.
The search was part of an ongoing firearms investigation, police said.
During the search, investigators reportedly located and seized a rifle, three handguns, several magazines, and numerous rounds of ammunition. Authorities also found more than one pound of suspected cocaine and over $20,000 in cash believed to be proceeds from illegal activity.
Eric Diaz Martinez, 21, of Earlimart, was arrested on multiple charges related to firearms and narcotics, according to police. He was transported to the Kern County jail.
