Teen Driver Arrested on DUI & Felony Evading Charges After Visalia Crash

VISALIA, CA — October 19th, 2025  —  Around 11:20 p.m. last night, Visalia Police Department officers were managing a large gathering in the 4000 block of West Howard Street when they observed a lifted Chevrolet pickup truck operating in a reportedly reckless manner near a group of pedestrians. Officers attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle; however, the driver allegedly refused to yield to the police.

A pursuit was initiated and continued until the pickup reached the intersection of Cameron Avenue and Mooney Boulevard, where the vehicle was involved in a collision with a second vehicle. According to officials, all individuals involved in the collision sustained only minor scrapes, and no serious injuries were documented.

Following the crash, the driver, identified as a 16-year-old male, reportedly attempted to flee the scene on foot. Officers quickly apprehended the individual following the brief foot pursuit.

The teenager was subsequently arrested and transported to the Tulare County Juvenile Detention Facility. He faces multiple charges, including felony evading an officer with disregard for public safety, resisting arrest, and driving under the influence. The prompt indicates that the incident concluded without major injury, with law enforcement successfully taking the driver into custody following the vehicular and foot pursuits.
