Palm Springs Police Arrest Suspect for Attempted Murder After Early Morning Altercation
PALM SPRINGS, CA – The Palm Springs Police Department (PSPD) has announced the arrest of a suspect in connection with an altercation that occurred on October 5, 2025, in the 300 block of South Palm Canyon Drive. The incident, which took place at approximately 2:25 a.m. following bar closing hours, involved a reported physical dispute among several females. According to the press release, the suspect, identified as Yanize Regla, a 25-year-old resident of Cathedral City, allegedly produced a firearm during the incident.
She is accused of discharging the weapon into the air and toward a victim on the ground, and of striking a second victim with the weapon. The altercation concluded when a witness reportedly intervened, after which all involved parties left the location. Following an investigation, PSPD Detectives identified Regla as the sole suspect. On October 9, 2025, detectives located and arrested Regla at her place of employment without incident.
Subsequent to the arrest, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence, which led to the recovery of the firearm believed to have been used in the commission of the alleged crime. Yanize Regla has been booked into the Riverside County Jail on charges of Attempted Murder (664/187 PC). She remains in custody as the investigation progresses.
