SFPD Arrests San Francisco Resident in Fatal Haight & Lyon St. Hit-and-Run
SAN FRANCISCO, CA — The San Francisco Police Department (SFPD) has announced the arrest of an individual connected to a vehicle collision that occurred on October 3, 2025, at the intersection of Haight and Lyon Streets.
The incident, reported around 9:50 p.m., involved a collision between a vehicle and a scooter. Upon arrival, SFPD officers located two occupants of the scooter. Paramedics transported both individuals to a local hospital; one victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries, while the other suffered life-threatening injuries.
Preliminary investigation indicated the vehicle struck the scooter and subsequently collided with an unoccupied parked vehicle while leaving the scene. The suspect vehicle was later found abandoned near Page Street and Central Avenue.
The SFPD Traffic Collision Investigation Unit (TCIU) assumed jurisdiction of the case. Through subsequent investigative efforts, detectives identified the suspect as 21-year-old Fatima Zahra Kabira Ghaleb of San Francisco. Probable cause was established, leading to an arrest warrant for Ghaleb.
On October 10, 2025, officers arrested Ghaleb, who was then transported to the San Francisco County Jail. Ghaleb faces booking on two counts of 20001(a)(2) CVC and two counts of 20001(b)(2) CVC (California Vehicle Code sections related to hit-and-run incidents).
