Tuolumne County Authorities Arrest Three During Fentanyl Bust in Jamestown

JAMESTOWN, CA — “Earlier this month, following a tip related to suspected drug sales, TNT Detectives initiated an investigation into narcotics activity at a residence near Jamestown Road and Laru Lane in Jamestown.

As the investigation progressed, detectives identified 38-year-old Joseph Altieri and 47-year-old Christopher Luke Jones as suspects. A search warrant for the residence was obtained.

On the morning of September 12, 2025, TNT Detectives, assisted by patrol deputies, served the warrant. Upon arrival, Altieri, who was standing outside the residence, quickly entered the home and locked the door. After announcing their presence and hearing frantic movement inside, detectives forced entry. Altieri was detained near the front door, and Jones was located and detained near the bathroom. Detectives also learned that a third man, 38-year-old Brandon William Boatright, had fled the residence on foot. He was later located and detained by deputies nearby.

During the search, detectives discovered approximately 13 grams of fentanyl, some of which was found on the rim of the toilet near where Jones was detained, as well as 0.4 grams of methamphetamine. The drugs were located in areas consistent with drug sales. Additional evidence, including packaging materials and cash, further supported drug sales activity.

The investigation revealed that Jones had attempted to dispose of the fentanyl in the toilet upon the detectives’ entry. Detectives also found evidence that Jones and Altieri had conspired to sell drugs, and that the residence was being maintained as a place to sell and use narcotics.

Jones and Altieri were arrested and booked on charges related to drug sales and conspiracy to commit a crime. Jones was additionally charged with maintaining a place for drug sales and use, and with destruction of evidence. Boatright was arrested and booked on the charge of knowingly visiting a place where controlled substances are used.

We continue to encourage anyone with information about drug sales in Tuolumne County to contact the TNT Tip Line at (209) 533-5884.”
