Attempted Homicide Warrant Issued for Mariposa County Man

Mariposa County authorities have reportedly issued an arrest warrant for Michael “Cosmo” May on suspicion of attempted murder.

In a press release, the Mariposa County Sheriff’s Office reported that May had initially been wanted for alleged assault with a deadly weapon in connection with an incident in the area of Colorado Road and Highway 140 on Tuesday, Sept. 9.

May had last been seen in the area and was described as wearing a blue shirt and long black shorts. Reports also indicated he may have been armed with a hatchet or chainsaw, authorities said.

Authorities have cautioned members of the public not to approach May if they spot him, and to call 9-1-1 instead.
