Man Arrested for Alleged Attempted Murder in Shafter
SHAFTER, CA — “On September 3, 2025 at about 8:00 P.M., Shafter Police Department officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Pacific Avenue for a report of a stabbing that had just occurred. When officers arrived, they found a male victim suffering from a stab wound to the chest. Officers developed information the suspect was Shafter resident Marco Antonio Silva (26). Officers immediately canvassed the area where Silva was last seen and eventually located him near the intersection of Pacific Avenue and Kern Street. Silva was taken into custody without incident. The victim was transported to a local hospital for medical treatment.
Marco Silva was arrested for Attempted Murder, Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Battery with Serious Bodily Injury. Silva was booked into the Kern County Sheriff’s Office Justice Receiving Facility. Silva’s bail was set at $590,000.
