Chico Man Reportedly Arrested After Deputies Find Meth, Taser in Vehicle During Traffic Stop

CHICO, CA  — “On August 31, 2025, at approximately 6:49 p.m., a Butte County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO) deputy conducted a traffic stop near El Monte Avenue and Highway 32 in Chico for a vehicle code violation.

The deputy contacted the driver, identified as Andrew Konitzer, age 56 of Chico. During the traffic stop deputies located methamphetamine and a taser inside the vehicle.

Konitzer was arrested for being a prohibited person in possession of a stun gun. Due to the increased penalties provided by Proposition 36 for those previously convicted of two or more drug related crimes, Konitzer was also arrested on a felony drug charge under the new laws.”
