Traffic Stop Leads to Discovery of Ghost Gun in SLO

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA  — “Late Sunday night, August 18th around 11:20pm, a police officer saw a car on the 900 block of Olive run a stop sign. The vehicle also had a broken brake light and a license plate with peeling reflective material, making it unreadable. The officer pulled the car over for the vehicle code violations and identified the driver as 43 year old Baldomero Sarabia, a San Luis Obispo resident. A records check revealed his driver’s license was suspended.

While Sarabia was being detained, he told the officer he had a shotgun and some methamphetamine in the car. A search uncovered suspected methamphetamine and a glass pipe in the center console. A shotgun and a pellet gun were found in the trunk and a records check on the shotgun showed it was unregistered. Sarabia was arrested on multiple misdemeanor charges, including possession of a controlled substance and paraphernalia, being under the influence of a controlled substance, possession of an unlicensed firearm and driving on a suspended license.”
